1. Case study

The patient with chronic pain in the left knee and varus deformity with arthrosis of a knee joint, 76 years old, X-ray of the right knee with gonarthrosis of II-III level, indicated for operation of total knee joint replacement in his home country. Anamnesis: hypertension, diabetes mellitus the II. type, the patient is on a low fat diet, mild COPD. In relation to this patient, there existed increased internal risk for the surgery, no infectious complications after the surgery in the wound, implant in a good position. After the surgery, the patient started with intensive rehabilitation exercise, this further improved his mobility and the overall post-operative progress. After 22 days, the patient in significantly improved state returns to his home country.

  1. Entry orthopaedic examination – Head Physician
  2. RTG of the knee joint, heart and lungs
  3. Internal pre-surgery examination, ECG
  4. Laboratory analysis
  5. General anaesthesia
  6. Surgery - TJR including material (implant of the second type)
  7. Hospitalization for 4 days
  8. Related intensive rehabilitation on at the RHB ward block, including physical therapy - 15 days
